Fine Arts

Art Happens

Art Happens is a club for anyone (with art experience or not) who wants to explore art. We have open studios where people can play around with whatever art they want to create, and sometimes we have projects that we work on as a group. Art Happens usually meets in one of the Art rooms, like room 317, on Thursdays after school until 5:30 and uses GroupMe to communicate. If you are interested in joining contact Mrs. Gorsage (agorsage@cpsk12.org) or come by on a Thursday!

Drama Club

Drama Club provides a safe and encouraging venue for actors of all skill levels to meet one another and engage with the art of theater. In a non-threatening environment, members gain confidence and practical skills which can then be applied to larger-scale theatrical productions. The club is also known for its major events such as the annual Haunted House, in which members transform the fine arts department into a spooky maze. Student actors perform in and manage the Haunted House as well as having creative license over its design, a freedom which reflects the student-led, community-oriented nature of Drama Club as a whole. If you have any questions, contact Drama Club officer Audrey Mueller (20akm01@stu.cpsk12.org).

Tri M

Modern Music Masters (Tri M) is a nationally recognized service organization consisting of members of the performing arts who want to actively give back to their community through their art. Some service we've done include caroling, playing in nursing homes, and fundraising for fine arts as well as charities that center around the fine arts. Meeting dates are TBD and will take place in room 407.

FOLIO

FOLIO is a student run literary magazine that publishes once a year with student contributions in art, stories, poems, and music. Contact Mrs. Gorsage (agorsage@cpsk12.org) for information on submitting your work.

Writing Club

Formerly named NaNoWriMo, Writing Club is a space for students to share writing pieces and receive constructive criticism on their work. The group aims to act as a support group for writers, especially for essays assigned for school. Writing Club meets every Tuesday after school in the atrium. For more information contact Mr. Swift (rswift@cpsk12.org) or Nina Schneider (22ncs03@stu.cpsk12.org).

Darkroom Records

Darkroom Records is a free recording studio that allows CPS students to learn music business and produce their own albums for free. CPS students affiliated with Darkroom Records have played venues such as Rose Music Hall and participated in Roots N Blues N BBQ. For more information about Darkroom Records at RBHS contact Mr. Rosen (wrosen@cpsk12.org).
