Bill & Stacey Rawlings

Established in July 2013, the day before our wedding, the farm began with 6 cow/calf pairs and about 30 boer goats on 77 acres - 15 acres of hay and 51.5 acres of pasture. Over the last 9 years we have grown our family and our herds. We now have three beautiful children, Solomon, Violet, and Annabeth, and have over 30 boer and boer/kiko cross goats, and 40 Angus and Angus cross brood cows. We also rent about 75 additional acres for annual forages, pasture ground, and hay ground.

We were honored to be named the 2021 Jefferson County Conservation Farm of the Year. Forage quality rises to the top of priorities for our operation, with soil health being the foundation. Frost seeding, poultry litter, multi-species cover crops, pasture and hay re-seeding, and sacrifice areas are all tools we use to better our soil health which in turn betters our forage quality and ultimately our livestock.

We pride ourselves in raising quality livestock, especially beef cattle, as we now offer freezer beef and retail beef cuts directly to the consumer. We feel diversifying our commodities and markets is important, and ensuring we have the best quality and most cost-efficient product is our goal.

Programs like those provided by the USDA-NRCS and the Chesapeake Bay Program coupled with the rental equipment provided by the Eastern Panhandle Conservation District are key to our success and implementation practices.

We would like to thank all of our customers, family & friends for their support as we have grown our family & our farm!
