Separation of Conjoint twins – 2015
Team led by Prof Ravi P Kanojia successfully separated a thoraco-omphalophagus twins. This was done on 23rd Nov 2015. The twin girls had a complex fusion of their torso with common liver. They were successfully separated after 9 hours of surgery. The girls have been doing well and are now 6 years old thriving well. This was well appreciated by his parent institute and was extensively covered in media. Director PGIMER cited this success in the Republic Day Speech of institute while he was highlighting the achievements of the institute.
