Before my career in education, I was a chemist at Gulf State Steel and worked at Walmart for a combined 5 years. I have farmed with my grandfather, worked my cousin's chicken houses, and managed invoicing for my father's pool company. While a college student, I worked 3rd shift at Walmart while attending class during the day. This is my 37th year in education, where I have been Teacher of the Year, Star Teacher, Teacher of the Month, and Region/ Area Coach of the year in Alabama and in Georgia.

I know and appreciate the value of hard work. I teach Sunday school in a local church and believe that God has blessed our community. I believe in giving back to the community in which you live. The concept of servant leadership is a concept that has made America the greatest country on Earth.

One of the key planks in my platform was live-streaming every City Council meeting and every Municipal Board meeting. This began my 2nd month in office with the full support of the Mayor and Council. Transparency is necessary if a city government is to have the trust of its residents. As a city councilman, I work with the Mayor's office to continue to give all of our Municipal agencies the resources needed to provide our residents with the best. As a result, our residents should receive the best possible service.

I believe that one of the biggest problems facing all communities, including ours, is the problem of mental health. I will continue to support all of the local and state agencies as we work to provide services for those in need of mental health counseling or other services. One life lost is too many lives lost.
