Dear Year 9,
Welcome to Term 3. I hope you had a safe and restful break in lockdown.
In the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19, we are now back to online learning. However, this time I know you are more prepared and will be well adjusted to the change of learning mode. Even though we have only been back for one day, I have already seen positivity among our year group. Some of you emailed me about borrowing a school laptop, asking for assistance in joining Google Classrooms and informing me about the technical difficulties you are experiencing at home etc. It is so pleasing to see how you have grown through the experience of last year’s online learning period.
As positive as it seems, I know that remote learning is not for everyone. If you need any support, please don’t hesitate to contact me via Junjun.sun@det.nsw.edu.au
Our school’s wellbeing hub will also become available very soon where you can explore ideas to stay connected with friends in virtual learning and how to access support if you need a mental health day. If you need academic support, please let your subject teacher or myself know, so we can look into how to better support you with immediate help from the learning and support team. I would like to remind everyone to check their school email every day for important notifications and updates.
Keep in mind your health and wellbeing. Remember, you are supported by friends, teachers and parents.
I look forward to hearing from you about any ideas or suggestions you may have.
Stay home and stay safe.
Miss Sun
