Dear Year 7,
Welcome back.
I hope you had a well-deserved break.
I am glad to see that majority of you have worked hard to transition to online learning. I can assure you that we are all in this together, it is a learning process for us teachers too. However, providing you with quality education is our focus and with dedication and determination, together we will achieve our learning goals one step at a time. It is your positive attitude and willingness to learn that will continue to make this achievable and so I once again thank you for your efforts during this challenging time.
Whilst I know that most of you have been following teacher instructions and completing class work, I do want to reinforce that work assigned to you on online learning platforms is NOT optional. You are expected to complete set work just as you would in the classroom, and this means in a timely and dedicated fashion. I ask that you keep this in mind, particularly over the next two weeks as we continue to work online.
In order to keep track of your workload, you may consider the following:
Establish a study plan
Prioritise work according to due dates
Use a diary to organise your workload
Create to-do lists
Set time limits
Stay on schedule
Be self-disciplined
I also want to highlight that teachers use your participation and submission of class work to mark rolls and determine whether you are meeting class requirements. I therefore encourage you to work to the best of your ability and actively check your online classrooms to ensure you are meeting deadlines.
Finally, and most importantly, I want to remind you to take time away from the screen to focus on your health and wellbeing. If you feel the current situation is impacting you, please remember there are people within the school community who you can contact. I have also added a service below for your consideration:
Kids Helpline:
Kids Helpline is Australia's free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling service for young people:
Contact: 1800 55 1800
The RGHS Learning and Wellbeing Hub has also been specifically designed to support you and your welfare, please access and use this platform via the link below:

Stay focused Year 7.

Kind Regards,
Ms Venizelou
