Shellfish farming techniques have changed a lot over the years. The following are some of the most common methods used by seasoned shellfish farmers:

In order to keep with any local laws, the rope and floats must be marked clearly with buoys. Pounds of oysters can be harvested from rope and floats. Rope and floats are typically used for more established oyster populations in protected waters, where they are not susceptible to predators.

* **Hatchery**

    A hatchery is an enclosed area that is used to grow juvenile oysters before they can be transferred into open waters. Hatcheries provide a safe environment for oysters to grow in a controlled environment. Oyster larvae is grown in trays or shelves , which are then suspended in tanks. Hatcheries are typically used for more established oyster populations in protected waters, where they are not susceptible to predators.

In my opinion, the best way to farm shellfish is in a pond. In this section I will discuss several techniques for shellfish farming.
