Bio

Emily Stantcheva Hyunshin Gwon lives with her family in Northern Virginia. Her mother is Bulgarian and her father Korean-American. Her mother also has a blog called Lilies of the Field. She is a rising 6th Grade in the Fairfax County district. She loves hanging with her friends/older brother and telling stories. In the summer, she enjoys biking, travelling, and swimming. In her travelling experiences, she's been to Bulgaria, Spain, and California - all to visit her family - and hopes to one day visit South Korea. Her favorite beach is Caswell Beach in Oak Island, North Carolina or Virginia Beach. Her favorite place to visit when not in summer, is the mountain range in Syria, VA or Dolly Sods VA. When not in school, she plays piano, volleyball, and card games with her dad. Emily likes to read chapter books, and though she does not like reading many comic books, she makes an exception for Calvin and Hobbes, as she finds it very humorous. She enjoys playing basketball, badminton, football, tennis, and soccer with family in her backyard (she doesn't actually take lessons).
