This site serves as the proposal page for an ICRA 2026 workshop and is currently under review.
2026 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA)
June ??th, 2026 - Vienna, Austria (Location - TBD)
As more and more robots are deployed into the broader unstructured world, the requirements for robustness and safety continue to grow. In part because of this, radar-based sensing for robotics has surged in popularity over the past few years, driven by new hardware developments and radar’s ability to provide weather-agnostic and unique return information. While significant progress has been made in using radar for robot perception and navigation, some of its potential remains unrealized, and many challenges still need to be addressed.
This workshop explores the future of radar adoption in robotics. What underexplored tasks could benefit from this sensing modality? What will future sensors look like, and how will they perform? What other radar applications can inspire us?
Participants will hear from both experienced and upcoming academics and industry representatives who are both using and producing radar technologies. They will also discuss the future of the field with other attendees.
