To improve communication with my EFL students, I started studying Chinese Mandarin. This hobby has not only broadened my knowledge of language acquisition but has also helped me understand how to accommodate the needs of pupils with EAL within the classroom. When I have some free time, you can usually find me walking or at the gym! I love visiting heritage sites and National Trust parks with my family and friends. I enjoy long walks and spending time outdoors as I find it helpful for taking my mind off work-related matters. It is for the same reason that I love reading! My favourite genre to read is thriller, but I also enjoy classics, history, and sci-fi. I am currently reading 'Pandora's Jar: Women in the Greek Myths' by Natalie Haynes which offers an insight into the way women have been (wrongly) portrayed in various versions of the Greek myths. I also like to bake for my family and friends and I am always looking for new recipes to add to my self-compiled cookbook!
