FIRST Lego League (www.firstinspires.org/robotics/fll) "FIRST® LEGO® League guides youth through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore, and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way."  FIRST Lego League PBL summary of project with TEKS. I have led multiple FIRST Lego League robotics teams since 2018. Coaching FIRST Lego League at the competitive level requires knowledge of robotics, coding, programming, innovative design solutions to real-world problems, exceptional knowledge of team building activities and networking. To ensure competitive teams where students have the best chance to excel, my teams meet biweekly and have additional homework assignments. To ensure participants have the ability and drive to succeed in the competition, I organize an audition and application process. As one of the few coaches who have led competitive teams at the elementary level, I have written the FLL guide for teachers as a reference for our Central Office. With this competition in particular, there are so many elements a team must perfect to be competitive at the regional or state level. Each year I have coached FLL, our teams have performed better and achieved greater scores. To be successful within this category, experience coaching helps tremendously. ***All students participating in FLL competitions and teams have signed a media waver.
