Shaving Cream Background
Put white foam shaving cream on a plate. Add in color using re-inkers. Swirl the color around in the shaving cream.
Drag paper through the shaving cream to get a marbleized background.
Marbleized Background (Sumingashing )
Fill a flat pan half way with water. Using re-inkers or nail polish, drop drops into water and let the color float. Use a comb to create "lines" of color.
Float paper on top and then drag out of the water.
Use a small stamp
Stamp up a background using a small stamp in lighter ink tone than your main image.
Add color to your image that matches the ink color background and your card background.
Tissue Paper
Crumpled Tissue Paper - then glue onto your card stock.
Wet colored Tissue Paper and let bleed onto your card stock then remove.
Paper Napkins
Apply patterned paper napkins to card stock using Modge Podge.
Resist
Stamp image or images using clear embossing ink. Emboss. Ink up your brayer and roll it over the embossed image.
Large background stamps
Ink up with a brayer, roll ink onto stamp. Stamp image using even pressure. Some people step on the stamp.
Water Color
Water color paper, while wet, sprinkle table salt on it. Allow to dry and then brush off salt.
Water color your paper, let dry and then stamp image over the water color.
Acrylic Paint
Paint on or spread paint with an old credit card.
In a spritzer bottle, add water and some paint. Spritz on the color onto the paper. Let dry. Use as a background or stamp on it.
