Jigsy/Bravenet, Weebly are free but limited.
Ads can be removed for an annual fee on Wordpress, LiveJournal, Weebly, and Jigsy/Bravenet.
Wordpress: has great stats and lots of other bells and whistles which can be confusing. You can add as many pages as you like. Light ads are now a part of Wordpress if you have a free account. There are free templates and paid templates, each template may or may not allow customizing.
Blogger: has stats and you can add Google Analytics. It is a drop and drag system, easy to use. There is a page limit of only 10. You can link anything Google docs has to your blog or Google Site. Templates are free unless you buy a third party one. Templates can be customized. There are no ads on Blogger unless you sign up for AdSense.

How to Center your Blog Banner
Google Sites Help with Steegle -- Google sites can be accessed through your Google Drive Acct. Very easy to use and looks like a website rather than a blog. There are limitations of themes and fonts compared to Blogger. If you want more customizing and only need 10 pages, Blogger might be a better choice.
