Tomatoes and Potatoes

The word is that early and late blight are fungal in nature so they need to have plant tissue to live on to over-winter. Assuming every bit of diseased plant material was removed, (not added to compost or left in your plot) you should be able to grow tomato plants again this year. It is recommended that you seek the blight resistant kinds of tomatoes, and that you space them really far apart so kn plants touch each other and there is plenty of ventilation between plants / rows.

Personally, I would not plant tomatoes in a plot that had the blight last year. Good succession and rotation planting methods are essential to a healthy garden
