Work-hours: Each member is required to complete an allotted number of work-hours each season to help maintain the functioning and health of the Putney Community Garden. The PCG works on the honor system, and we value all contributions.
Please note that at least half of each gardener’s total required hours must be completed by August 1.
All gardeners, including garden stewards, are required to fulfill half at least half of the total work hours on approved in-garden tasks (see list of in-garden taksk here).
Members may fulfill work-hours in multiple ways throughout the year:
By attending garden work parties, which are regularly scheduled throughout the season.
By doing independent work completing approved garden tasks posted on the garden website.
By doing independent work completing atypical garden tasks that have been pre-approved by the garden stewards (using the Garden Task Proposal form).
By attending garden meetings. Gardeners may accrue work hours by attending meetings. Total hours may be accrued per plot, per year as indicated in the table above. There is no limit on the number of work hours garden stewards can accrue for attending meetings.
By working on garden committees.
All garden members may accrue work hours for any service they are asked or elected to perform in running the garden. Each member is responsible for maintaining the garden paths surrounding his/her own plots(s). Please submit work hours for all path work you do.
Work hours should be logged in a timely manner via the login system.
Notes:
A gardener can transfer hours to another member. Please contact the login system administrator to transfer hours.
