Serving

Service is a core value of PBF. If Christians in PBF did not serve, the ministry would not function. It takes sacrificial effort from believers to reflect the light of Christ into the world, and that is exactly what is done when serving. There is a universal negative stereotype when it comes to serving in todays era. Some may claim that it is merely hard work, boring, or a waste. Many serve just so they can record a number of hours to add to their life resume. The general attitude of our world is that serving is for the lowly. In PBF, we understand that service gives more than materialistic benefit. Serving is meant to bring great joy in fellowship with believers that are contributing to an eternal cause. Many former PBF'ers will tell you that some of their best memories were from serving together. Also, serving is not for the least, but for the greatest according to Jesus. In PBF, we strive to be great in the sight of God rather than great in the sight of men.

PBF Transportation: One of PBF's most important functions is to bring on-campus students to church and to PBF. We believe that faith comes through hearing the word of Christ. How will students hear the word of Christ if they are in their dorm? Serving on the transportation team is a commitment of once every week to once every two weeks. Schedules can be worked out with our transportation coordinator. The only requirement to serve is to have a functioning vehicle, a drivers license, and to be somewhat familiar with PBF. If you would like to join, be sure to DM the transportation coordinator in the PBF Slack.

PBF Setup: Since PBF is hosted in the Faith West gym, we are always in need of helpers to set up worship equipment and chairs. Students typically enjoy coming earlier to fellowship with one another while helping make Thursday night events possible. If you are interested in helping with setup, be sure to join our Slack and reach out to anyone on our leadership team!

Faith Church Setup: Similar to PBF, college students set up for church in the Faith West gym. Setup occurs on Saturday night at 6:30 pm at Faith West and typically lasts no more than an hour. Sometimes, games are played afterwards. Be sure to reach out to our leadership team after joining the PBF Slack Workspace for more details.

Coffee Team: In PBF, we love good coffee. But coffee does not just come out of thin air. We have a group of diligent brewers who make and serve coffee on Thursday nights. Our coffee team is always in need of a helping hand to make delicious beverages for everyone who comes to PBF. If you would like to join, be sure to ask the coffee team in the PBF Slack Workspace and they will be more than happy to get you on shift!

Worship Team: Our worship team needs new musicians every year. If you are passionate about playing worship music for Thursday night PBF and other events, be sure to reach out to our Worship Team Leader in the PBF Slack Workspace. A playing interview is required to join the team.

Faith West Cleaning: Faith West, being a public community center, is always in need for a daily cleaning. A lot of our college students typically join together on various evenings to help clean floors, bathrooms, and more while fellowshipping. If you are interested in serving this way, please reach out to our leadership team on the PBF Slack Workspace.
