Apologize and Repair

We talk a lot about RJ (restorative justice) for students, and it's important that we (the adults in our students' lives) practice what we preach - we walk the talk. We need to be able to apologize frequently, authentically, and with agility - to our students and our co-workers.

To apologize effectively:

  • Acknowledge your impact.

  • Give an explanation not excuses.

  • Express remorse.

  • Commit to reparation.
