As we like to say, we met at the Prairie Star Cafe around the turn of the century. It was during those infamous Old Time music sessions, where we sensed each other's unique musical presence and pursued connection with each other. All three of us were renegades, in that we were not Old Time savvy, and would gleefully improvise along with the group. Some of the folks seemed to enjoy our offerings, yet the traditionalists generally cringed in agony.
At times, we would slip out to the sidewalk in the front and partake in our own sessions of exploration. And at one point, the king pin (Dan Mackerman ) of the sessions made it clear to me that this was not a place for experimenting with the traditions. He admired our musicality, and respectfully said "if you want to do that stuff, form a band".
Thus, treVeld was born . . .
What a beautiful ride while it was active.
Grateful to have two great recordings!
for the years of composing / performing bliss, and your nearly endless patience for the recordings .
