Once again, the Prairie Star inspiration thread continues. Robin, Nick & I met in the Old Time sessions, where Robin & Nick recruited me to play a few Old Time gigs, which eventually grew into a larger band with Michael Keyes. This core morphed between us over the years through duos, trios and the full quartet. We were more Traditional Old Time than treVeld, yet we earned a reputation for being a sort of fire brand band, with a tendency for intensity and vigor. Me,Mike & Nick branched into blues, swing and folk as a trio.
I enjoyed our many faces over the years, digging the regular Tapestry Contra dance gigs, Unity church's Black Friday events(Kevin Kling and Ruth MacKenzie led for a few events), as well as our outings with the Blue Grass and Old Time Association (MBOTMA)! From campsite jams to the main stage of the festival.
My favorite gigs were at the MN Garlick Festival, where The Brass Messengers would join us for some righteous rollicking!
Wait a tic, it may have been the 4rth of July SAP parade showings!
