This is my current fun project that survived the reset, in fact it's what's kept me sane and musically active in these trying times. BMR is myself (Master P) and Craig Lewis (Master C). It came about when I met Craig when he worked as a cashier for Lunds in Highland. I'd head there to get munchies after my band gigs, where I'd share stories of my musical projects, and we'd talk until his shift ended, or I got kicked out!
I witnessed him promoting my bands to everyone who'd listen, as they went through checkout . When I described this phenomenon to my friend Terry, he channeled Craig's new persona as - The Buddhist Cashier. I'd been creating tracks on my laptop and wanted to explore what I could do with Craig's free style vocal offerings recorded into his phone or tablet. Thus began the Buddhist Cashier Demos project, which now has over 30 tracks that I've produced in honor of what Craig was bringing with his offerings.
This relationship provides the opportunity to see what comes, in a spontaneous process, that engages my Tinkerer self with a seed of inspiration that fuels the tracks. It well enables my penchant for having fun, and exploring various colors and styles, without any overly contrived intent!
Of course it's revealing of my passion for groove and textures. Drum and Bass are key. I typically approach instruments in a percussive way, so this provides a path for playing in that zone. Intensely!
As the track we created titled Brothers celebrates, I relish making spontaneous beat poems with my
Brother!
