The portfolio will consist of reflections and evidence-based responses related to chapter topics.
The last section of the portfolio requires you to conduct an "Interview with an Elder." We will start planning this early in the term.
You will submit the LRP in 2 installments.
APA formatted in-text citations and references are required.
The LRP and preparatory assignments replace the final exam and research paper for this course.
You will have a few whole class discussion boards on Canvas and multiple small group discussions on Pronto.
Each discussion has its rubric for grading, ranging from 5 to 30 points.
Canvas discussion boards will be written. Pronto discussions will be video-based.
This assignment involves a small group discussion that must be conducted and recorded in Pronto with your assigned group members.
Pronto Assignment Rules
Use the Assigned Groups: Discussions must occur in the Pronto groups I created in Canvas. Do not remove any members from your group.
Recording is Required: All group discussions must be recorded. I will review the recordings to assign grades.
Participation: You must be on camera and actively contribute by speaking during each meeting to receive credit.
Your REPLY or POST is your first submission on the discussion board. It will be your original response to the prompt or question asked.
For every REPLY, you will end by including an open-ended question about the topic covered in the chapter or module for the class.
The RESPOND to OTHERS requirement is when you read one of your classmates' REPLIES/POST and answer the question they included.
The answer must be more than "yes, no, I agree" to earn credit.
PlayPosit is the tool used for interactive lectures. You will need to watch, listen, and participate in pre-recorded lectures.
EdPuzzle is a video-based system with embedded quiz questions.
Both programs are free and already embedded in Canvas and have unlimited attempts.
Several short essay chapter assignments will be assigned covering course related topics including research and theory.
Extra Credit assignments are offered throughout the term to earn up to 3% towards your final grade.
