Have you ever experienced an ideal day? How would you describe the ideal day?
I ask because I have started experiencing these increasingly frequently. Let me clarify. Charity Minton and I had the opportunity to hang out on Grey Area last week; you can listen to it here. We discussed acceptance and its impact on a person's life, including the ability to have good days. In my quest for self-improvement, I have repeatedly envisioned ideal days. It is enjoyable and beneficial to visualize the various aspects of a day in my future life, from waking to sleeping. And the days have been just fantastic. I enjoy imagining them!
But as I continued to visualize these ideal days, I came to a realization. Every single one of those ideal days included the same elements—my favorite people and emotions. The places shifted. Those individuals and feelings remained the same, even as the activity changed. So I asked myself, am I already experiencing wonderful days? I started to look at my days now. Although the locations and activities were slightly different, the reality remained that, yes, I was already enjoying beautiful days. Now that I have finished my daily appreciation exercises, I pause to consider if this was a wonderful day. Do not get me wrong; occasionally, things still go wrong. People become irritated. Things shatter. The world continues to function mostly as before. However, the majority of my days consist of those ideal elements.
And without all the work I have done, I never would have realized this. Before I could appreciate how amazing my days were right now, I had to reach a point of self-awareness and acceptance.
I want individuals to have their own perfect days, which is why I am hosting the Accept Yourself Challenge. I want every day of your life to be filled with all the wonderful things you desire, including ideal days. We must take the initial step in order to accomplish some very amazing things in our lives. We sometimes need a safe, loving, and supportive community to accomplish that.
