Litter Pick every Thursday at 10 am. Meet at the River Walk entrance. Paused until further notice.

Equipment kindly on loan from the Hawthorns Urban Wildlife Centre (please bring your own gloves)

Thanks to the City Council's Park Department for picking up the refuse promptly.

This is a gorgeous walk in any weather and must be the most enjoyable litter grasping in Southampton.

There is a Facebook Page with a lot of detail (press 'see all') https://www.facebook.com/Marlhill.Chat/

I hope to transfer much of that here.

ITV Meridian News covered this event:

https://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2019-06-13/protestors-vow-to-protect-trees-from-southampton-airport-expansion/

Notable in this coverage was the airport stating that the trees are absolutely safe. This begs the question why, then, do they need to be removed? The airport blames European legislation. This same legislation does not mention 'trees' once! This gives weasels a bad name.

Additional coverage was on That's TV Solent:
