In our Security & Public Safety program, our students take a look at the protection of individuals, those in the community, industry organizations, and the threats to their well-being. Students will focus on crisis management and prevention, threat identification, public safety education, and more.

Your online Bachelor of Kpop in Security & Public Safety will empower you to create solutions for the Industry's greatest security threats, while laying the foundation for a career in emergency preparedness and public safety. Your security classes at Promise University explore topics like counter-terrorism, intelligence analysis, cybercrime, and criminal law.
Emergency management courses cover areas such as emergency planning, disaster response, threat assessment, and how to care for victims. The security skills acquired in the program are valued by many businesses and government agencies.
As a student in the Security & Public Safety program, you will have countless opportunities to join forces with Promise students across many majors and clubs to gain the knowledge and skill base required for crime prevention and safety protection strategies, identify and handle emergencies/crisis, crowd control, and counter terrorism.
The Security & Public Safety program studies various types of security, from international security to information security focused on protection of assets.
Thus program explores global concerns, legal and ethical issues, physical security, cybersecurity, and related topics.
In this program, you will learn to:
Identify organizational security risk exposure, develop cost-effective mitigation strategies, and prepare recovery options
Employ the use of risk analysis and vulnerability assessment processes
Critically examine the variety and extent of losses from criminal acts, natural disasters, and security breaches facing society
Analyze information, personnel, and physical security and determine planning approaches to prevent business losses

MAJOR
Undergraduate students in any degree program are able to participate in undergraduate research. Several options exist to show mentored undergraduate research activity on a student’s official transcript. Those who wish to enroll in an undergraduate research course/unit should consult with their academic advisor to understand how the credit will apply towards the degree requirements. If no credit is needed, students may be eligible to enroll in the 0-credit IDS 4914 course/unit. This course /unit will not impact degree credits or GPA but will show on an official transcript and document the experience. The Office of Undergraduate Research is able to assist with further inquiries.
