As mentioned, The Vtuber project is the first phase of Project Yoakeboshi. Here is a hint of the future plannings. Although we can’t share the details yet, but we plan to reinvest into building the local community. Building a place where people can gather, meet, share, learn and enjoy various hobbies outside of events.
Accessibility for the culture
Local ACG scene is very event centric, unless you already have an existing group or friends that share the hobby, it is very hard to find public communities that are active to join, much harder if you wish to transform from a consumer into a creator. We hope to make accessibility in becoming a consumer and creator much more easy and open. Creating a place where people know where to go if they wish to experience and learn, such as cosplays, streaming, model building, voice acting, singing, drawing, 3D modelling, vocaloid, and many more.
Benefits of Growing Local Community
Building the local ACG community will help to expand the subculture market in Malaysia. If the market grows, hopefully more creative and entertainment foreign businesses will consider Malaysia as their next destination for expansion. Also, with a bigger market means more opportunities, hoping to benefit those existing business, local communities and those working hard in the creative and entertainment industry.
Benefits for Our Talents
Just to be clear, the vtuber project is not a stepping stone for other goals. Market expansion means growing more local fans of the culture which helps to sustain our talent’s activities better with more potential fans.
If we are able to get other stable source of income through this intiative, we also plan to adjust the revenus share rates to benefit the talents more, as we slowly reduce the reliance on our talent’s revenues. So that we could maintain and upgrade our support for our talents, providing financial help if required, solving one common issue of unstable income for vtubers even in big agencies.
Also, even if our talents experience emergencies or issues causing them unable to work for a period of time, we still have other revenue source to support our talents and maintain the project.
Final words
The vtuber project is a crucial start for us, if the group doesn’t succeed, we won’t be able to move on to the next phase, so we will make sure to provide the support and management required to help the group grow and stabilize before making any major next moves.
With a growing market and fanbase, that is where I could see a future vision where Malaysia plays a bigger role in the world stage for ACG. Which is why the second phase of the project will be another major pillar for the project. To realize this vision, as the project owner, I will be committed to constantly collect feedbacks and further improvise the project, making sure we provide the value that is worth supporting.
