6th grade students worked on volumes and capacity. It was very interesting to realize that mathematics is not theory, but that it is always related to reality. "How cool", said the students.
With a rope and a twig the students had to trace, as accurately as possible, a circumference and in a second phase an ellipse. For this last class they had to indicate the foci, the larger axis, the smaller axis and the distance from a generic point to the focuses. Experimenting is also learning!
Today, our students have made reductions and enlargements of figures by the method of homotetia and the grid. We also had a new competition of the game of 24. Fantastic day in our school.
