„LET‘S BECOME MATHEMATICIANS, SHALL WE?“

The 1st transnational Erasmus+ KA2 project meeting ,, Let‘s become mathematicians, shall we?‘‘ took place at KTU Vaižgantas progymnasium in Kaunas from the 27th to the 29th of September, 2017.

The main goal of this project is to improve students’ logical-mathematical intelligence, thus effectively contributing to the reduction of underachievement in Mathematics and the improvement of related skills such as mental mathematics, logical reasoning, problem-solving and the ability to think in abstract ways.

Our pupils greeted the guests from 4 European countries ( Portugal, Hungary, Italy and Norway) by giving out the short concert. Moreover, the guests also attended the lessons, communicated with the pupils and kindly investigated various works and they came to know the school‘s history while visiting the school‘s museum and discussed all the activities of the project concerned for the forthcoming 2 years.

After the hard work, the guests had the opportunity to enjoy the tastes of Lithuanian cuisine and to admire the views of Kaunas old town covered in a variety of majestic autumn colours!

On the 29^th of September, the guests with the Lithuanian teachers were taken to visit the Nemunas river regional park, the scenery of which is extremely rich. On their way, they visited Raudonės castle, where high up in the tower, they admired the views of the surrounding areas! They also went to Kintai, Mingė‘s village and had the opportunity to taste the extraordinary smoked fish, which is the heritage of the small Lithuania cuisine.

We were extremely happy to present our country, town and the school to our project partners!

Erasmus+ KA2 project‘s „Let's become Mathematicians, shall we?" work group

The 2nd transnational Erasmus+ KA2 project meeting ,,Let‘s become mathematicians, shall we?‘‘ took place at Debreceni Kazinczy Ferenc Általános Iskola és Alapfokú Művészeti Iskola in Debrecen from 30th May to 2nd June 2018.

The main goal of this meeting was to assess the activities developed withing the first year of the project. The representatives of the partner schools assessed the teacher training event of the first year and its impact on the teachers’ practice, as well as presented and exchanged the tasks the partner schools did during the period between the short term exchange of pupils event and the transnational meeting in Hungary.

Teachers, pupils and parents welcomed their guests from Portugal, Norway, Poland, Italy and Lithuania with a short show in their institute. 7th grader pupils guided the guests in the building to present them their school and the guests also attended different Maths workshops in three classes where they learnt how Mathematics is taught in the school and how the methods the partners had exchanged were applied during the lessons.

The guests had the opportunity to taste the special dishes of Hungarian cuisine during their stay. As a cultural programme they were taken to a one-day trip to visit Andrássy Castle is Tiszadob and Rákóczi Castle in Sárospatak.

During the transnational meeting the guests had the opportunity to meet their Hungarian colleagues as well as spend some time with them during the working sessions, meals and on the trip as well.

We wanted our guests to have a great time in our city and country at the end of the first year of the project. We can proudly say that we could manage to achieve our aims and goals.
