Utena University of Applied Sciences

Utenos kolegija is a state institution in higher college education established in 2000. The mission of the institution is to educate and train professionals of various areas possessing higher college education, meeting the demands of the regional, national and European labour markets and to create conditions for continuous education by educating person’s abilities to learn continuously and act under the conditions of knowledge society being formed. The College has two academic divisions: the Faculty of Business and Technologies and the Faculty of Medicine.

Today the institution offers 22 study programmes and 9 of them are based on modular study system with Problem-Based Learning approach. The study programmes have been updated in four main aspects: there was a shift to ECTS credit system, an international character of the study programme has been increased, a problem-based learning system has been implemented, e-learning opportunities for students have been expanded.

The study programmes are accredited by the national and international experts, theoretical knowledge and practical skills are transferred to the students by excellent professors, associated professors and professionals-practitioners who have acquired deep theoretical and practical experience. Very often, some of the subjects are taught by guest lecturers from the most prestigious European universities.

In Utena kolegija there is the E-learning Centre: students, teachers, and non-formal learners use Moodle, First Class environments, Adobe Connect video lectures: all the afore mentioned guarantee good quality studies contributing to the development of a personality who is competent, critical, responsible for the life-long self-study.
