Add a synth or any tone based instrument to an audio track. We're using "Miami" from Gadget.
Connect Prism to the audio track and filter the MIDI input input to channel 4 as we’ll use track 4 in Prism.
.
MELT lets you program a unique rhythm in one track while borrowing the note values from another.
In our example, we’ll use MELT to create a custom bassline in Track 2 that follows the lowest note of the chord progression in Track 1.
Note: Using MELT in Track 2 does not affect the output of the source track (Track 1).
1. Track Select State -> Track 4
3. Press [MELT]
2. SEQ Setup
4. Select the source track to MELT
With MELT enabled, the main keypad shifts its focus to rhythmic functions.
Note playback is disabled, since specific pitches are now sourced from the MELT track.
The GUI also switches from note input mode to the Fast Navigator for quicker pattern editing.
Quickly access groove-related note settings like length, chance, and every-conditionals.
With pitch handled by MELT, you’re free to focus entirely on shaping the rhythm.
While you don’t have direct control over pitch with MELT, you can still create harmonic magic using its note filters and pitch shifters.
Filter specific notes from the source track, then shift them away from their original pitch to add movement and harmonic interest.
But, note filter is applied to trigs 2, 3, and 4 in track 2
Let's keep it simple and make quick little sequence.
Press WRP
Set the 'Poly' parameter to MONO. This limits the number of notes coming from the SEQ to 1.
Set the 'Mode' to LOW. This takes the lowest note from the SEQ.
Lower 'Oct' by one. this shifts the notes coming from SEQ down one octave.
Now we'll be playing the lowest note from our chord sequence transposed down an octave to the rhythm set in this track.
Each track includes a master velocity mixer.
Since we're working with MIDI, volume isn’t directly controlled. Instead, Prism adjusts the outgoing velocity of all notes on the track by a set percentage, effectively shaping dynamics and intensity.
1. Go to [Track Select]
2. Adjust 'Velocity' up/down
