Crafting a sentence completion test may initially seem straightforward—create a sentence and leave blanks for respondents to fill in with their own words. However, as I delved into the process, I quickly discovered that there is more to it than meets the eye. Designing a practical sentence completion test requires careful consideration of language, context, and readability to ensure that respondents can provide meaningful responses that accurately reflect their understanding or attitudes. In addition, I learned that the sentence completion test should be designed with the target audience in mind. The sentences should be relevant and relatable to the experiences and perspectives of the respondents, ensuring that they can easily relate their own words to the context provided.
