Role: Super-Ego, 2D, Mental, Unvalued, Bold, Accepting
The role function is occasionally used by us when our base function can't do the work in a certain situation. The base function will be switched off and will give its control over to the role function for it to shine. However, the role function cannot be used greatly and very effectively since it can only be used at times. It is the function that is being used to meet up to social standards occasionally in order for one to adapt to the social norm. As a 2D function, its strengths shouldn't pass the social norm standard even after development in real life, as there is already the ego block doing the work above the role. We may be able to express our role function to other people when we first get to meet them, or any new unseen situations since this function will be working in motion to provide the individual with the awareness that they can indeed apply their role to fit themselves into these brand new situations. At other times when the individual struggles to use their base, they will shift over to their role to seek help and support in order to complete the tasks.
