The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science of the Holy Cross of Davao College, Inc. adopts the Competency-Based Learning Standards as specified under the CHED Memorandum Order No. 46, series of 2012, and underscores the importance of lifelong learning and the concept of education as building learner competencies including learning how to learn. As such, it is focused on retraining and learning new skills/competencies that enable the students to cope with the demands of a rapidly changing, complex, and interdependent world.
The Faculty Members strongly advocate a learner or studentcentered paradigm, in which students are made aware of what they ought to know, understand, and be able to do after completing a unit of study. Teaching and assessment are geared towards the acquisition of appropriate knowledge and skills and the building of student competencies. To undertake this, the Faculty Members constantly keep themselves abreast with the changes in the discipline’s content, theory, and methodology considering the changes and developments in the local, national, and global political landscapes.
Anchored on and empowered by virtue, bravery, and excellence, the Political Science students are committed to uphold and embody the highest moral standards in fulfillment of their duties and responsibilities as agents of positive change and meaningful social transformation. The Political Science students also commit to undertake strategic and innovative mechanisms to promote bravery in their academic, organizational, and institutional endeavors in partnership with the other stakeholders of the HCDC Community. Finally, the Political Science students pledge to relentlessly exhibit excellence in the areas of instruction, research, community engagement, spirituality, and nationbuilding.
