Data forms

The Market Profiling App was developed for electronic data collection, however forms are also available in hard copy (*.pdf) with exactly the same questions. Here you can explore, download, and print out these forms.

Hard copies are particularly relevant if your respondents have no internet connected devices (computers, mobile phones, tablets) or if internet connection is not available in their area. In such cases, the forms should be distributed as hard copies. Information collected using paper forms can be entered into the online database by a curator at a later date when the internet becomes accessible.

Poultry commodity sub-form

Collects information on specific commodities traded at the market, including qualitative data on trade volume, timing of peak sales, and catchment area of the market. Each sub-form is filled for one commodity, so if there are several of them you will need more than one form.

Hygiene & bio-security sub-form

Focuses on assessment of hygiene and bio-security of the market. This sub-form can be filled either at the time of collecting basic market data or added to the market description later (also by another person). Typically each market will be inspected once, however it is possible for assessments to be repeated.

Trade connections sub-form

Aims at identifying places (other markets, towns, villages or larger areas) that are connected to the market by trade. The number of such connections will differ between markets, and they will also depends on how trade connections are defined by the survey team.
