Epicollect5 on the web

Requires a permanent internet connection. Electronic forms are accessed from the internet browser. Most convenient and flexible way of entering data, especially those previously collected through paper forms. More likely to be used from the office, although with a permanent internet connection it is also possible to enter data immediately at the market. With the web based interface the respondent can use a convenient interactive location widget, which makes it easy to search, enter, or correct location coordinates on a web map.

Epicollect5 Mobile app (Google Play, App Store)

Once installed, the app can work offline, with only intermittent access to the internet needed for periodic uploading of new entries to the Epicollect5 server. The only difference from web-based data collection is that the form uses location data directly acquired from the mobile device. This implies that the respondent has to be present at the market during the survey. In case of the absence of a GSM network, the device will fail to identify geographical coordinates or might be not sufficiently precise because of poor mobile coverage. However, in both cases geographical coordinates of the market can be corrected in the web-based version.
