Athletics KZN League at Kings Park: 12 Port Shepstone High learners participated. Best performances: Philelinkosi Shozi was first in the boys under 15 3000m in 9 minutes 56,1 seconds (NEW SCHOOL RECORD) and he was placed second in the 1500m. Zack Thiele was placed first in the boys under 17 Javelin with a throw of 32,50m. Innocentia Ncama was placed second in the girls under 15 800m, and second in the 400m in a time of 1minute and 6,5 seconds (NEW SCHOOL RECORD). Nkosazana Mchunu was placed third in the under 15 400m in a time of 1 minute and 8,8 seconds. Mlungisi Mabaso was placed third in the boys under 17 long jump with a jump of 5,87m.

Excellent athletics results were achieved at the Puma Sprint Series. Thirteen learners were entered and the best results was from: Nkosazana Mchunu who took gold in the girls U14, 400m and set a new school record. Mlungisi Mabaso obtained silver in the boys U17 long jump, which qualifies him to go to SA Champs. Innocentia Ncama won a silver in the girls U14, 400m. Nande Sikutshwa won silver in the girls U14 long jump. Also making the finals in their events were Philelinkosi Shozi (fourth in 1500m), Lemard Pillay (5th in 100m), and Chè Habib (7th in 400m).

Six learners were entered in the KZN Athletics championships held in Durban. Best results were from Mlungisi Mabaso, who was placed fourth in the U17 long jump with a jump of 5,93 metres. Philelinkosi Shozi broke an old school record and was placed eighth in the U17 3000m with a time of 9 minutes and 48,4 seconds. Also making the semi-finals in the U17 400m was Chè Habib with a time of 54,8 seconds and Mihlali Gxumisa with a time of 55,2 seconds. Well done!
