The end of the course seems to be close... but do not worry! There still are new things I want to share with you, and, today we have talk about certain methodology I am very interested in, known as 'Cooperative learning'.
You must be wondering: What is it about? well, Cooperative learning is defined as “an instructional situation where small groups of students work together to achieve a common goal” (Bado & Franklin, 2014. p.3; Johnson & Johnson, 1994), and its main principles are very simple: it is student centered because they must be responsable of their work, they must work in heterogenous groups in order to distribute the effort and all the students works toward a common goal.
You might think that it is related to the post I wrote last week about Project-based learning, and, in fact, it is!, although we need to bare in mind that project base is a learning methodology, whereas cooperative learning is a teaching method, so they can be combined perfectly. If you want to see an practical example, go and check Task 6!
See you later, alligator.
