In 2014, Oturu School faced challenges due to leaks and mould, rendering its facilities unfit for use. However, five years later, in 2018, the school embarked on a trans formative journey to secure modern facilities a uniquely blending nature with educational excellence. Since then, the new school has been flourishing for five years, fostering an environment where students, educators, families, and the community unite as a cohesive educational family.
Operating from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, Oturu School, rated as a Decile 1 school, serves a community with a higher proportion of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, comprising 94% Māori and 5% other students, totalling 160 learners. Nestled within serene landscapes, Oturu School stands as an educational sanctuary. Throughout the campus, murals crafted by students embody the school's identity, reflecting its commitment to excellence, innovation, and inclusiveness.
