HALEY CRENSHAW
I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I grew up in a small suburb of Milwaukee with my parents and three siblings. I pursued an elementary education degree with Cardinal Stritch University and graduated in 2016 with a bachelors in Education with a minor in literacy.
I was fortunate to spend the first part of my teaching career working for the West Allis-West Milwaukee school district, an organization pioneering ideas of personalized and Next Generation learning across their buildings. This allowed me to develop and innovative mindset for education and educational technology.
I was then offered the opportunity to work the Mequon-Thiensville School District as a 4th Grade Teacher. Working in Mequon allowed me the experience to teach students online through the coronavirus pandemic. During this time, I recognized the importance of technology integration, implementation, and education in the traditional classroom setting.
At this point, I realized my desire to spread the word about educational technology and took a position teaching 8th grade Literacy and Social Studies with Franklin Public Schools. This position allowed me to broaden and expand my understandings of how technology can support learning through experiences K-8.
Through my experiences in education, I have been able to develop professional learning opportunities on collective efficacy, integration of specific technologies in the classroom, and create professional development plans for staff to engage with each school year.
Beyond the classroom, I also coordinate and implement a summer gymnastics camp, tutor students, and instill he mindset in being a lifelong learner in all.
