Lesson outlines (right) can help educators understand how simple technology can be to integrate into a learning experience and can ultimately support growth from learners as they develop academic, social emotional and 21st century skill learning through integrative practices.
These lessons can be used as a resource for educators to mimic these integration systems or to utilize exactly in their classrooms, inspiring more opportunities to use technology.
While creating this artifact, it allowed me to understand how to integrate technology effectively. It is equally as important to consider how to scaffold technology learning for learners as it is to consider scaffolding for academic content. I plant to use these outlines when integrating technology in the future to anticipate and plan for student needs.
One of the biggest challenges of the recent push to integrate technology into the classroom is overcoming the lack of understanding educators have on how to use technology. The infographic to the left is an overview that educators can use to understand when it is most appropriate to use multimedia as a tool for learning. Additionally, it reminds educators that there may be times in which it is beneficial to use media that has already been created or it may be better to create. When it comes time to create, educators have access to steps necessary to create an effective tool along with resources to get started.
This infographic creates a quick place for educators to review information regarding media and kickstart their planning and thinking in regards to utilizing multimedia in the classroom. It's general enough for educators at any level to review and evaluate multimedia for the classroom.
Creating this artifact was helpful for me in understanding basics for multimedia. While I have a fair amount of experience with multimedia, this work solidified my understandings and practice while also helping me put myself in the shoes of educators who may not have as much background in the area.
This artifact would be an excellent tool to share with educators as a resource or post in high traffic areas for educators!
