Fall Family Social on Back to School Night

Tuesday, August 25 is Ponderosa’s Back to School Night. Families are invited to visit their classrooms, and may choose from either of two teacher presentation sessions, 5:30PM to 6:00PM, or 6:05PM to 6:35PM. 

After your classroom visits, PTSA and PEPCO would like to welcome you all to join us on the school blacktop by the lunch tables. Meet other Ponderosa families and learn more about our parent organizations. The Old Greenwood BBQ truck and Island Ice will be on the blacktop to sell dinner and dessert. You can find the PTSA and PEPCO information tables near the lunch tables from 6:30PM to 7:30PM.

Ponderosa PTSA Open Board Positions 

PTSA is our school’s Parent-Teacher-Student Association. Membership in the PTSA is not required in order to participate in our events, but you can help support PTSA-sponsored activities by becoming a member for only $10 through our TOTEM site. 

The PTSA Executive Board is a group of volunteers that meets once per month to discuss and plan fundraisers and events at Ponderosa, such as Halloween Happening, Family Astronomy Night, and International Night. 

If you are interested in becoming more involved at our school, we have positions that are still open on our 2026-27 Executive Board: 3rd Vice President - Community Events; Financial Secretary; Financial Reviewer; and Parliamentarian. Open Coordinator Positions 

PTSA has volunteer positions outside of the Executive Board, that offer more flexibility and do not require attendance in the monthly PTSA Board meetings. We are looking for a Benefit Nights Coordinator, as well as volunteers for the Family Science Night Committee, along with other, flexible roles. Ponderosa Parents Facebook Group 

There is a Ponderosa parent group on Facebook! Ponderosa Elementary School Families. If you would like to join this online parent community, please note that there are required membership questions, such as the name of your child’s teacher and classroom number, in order to keep the group secure and respect the privacy of our Ponderosa families.
