Benefit Night @ Dave’s Hot Chicken

Dave’s Hot Chicken is helping raise funds for our school. On Thursday, September 17, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM, order from Dave’s Hot Chicken in Sunnyvale, and 20% of your purchase will be donated to Ponderosa PTSA.

Show the flyer with the QR code at the register, or order online at daveshotchicken.com and use the fundraiser code "GIVE". Dave’s Hot Chicken is located at 118 E. El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087.

PTSA Reflections

“What My Culture Means to Me!” is the theme for the 2026-27 PTSA Reflections Art Program, which has been bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. Students are invited to submit original artwork in six categories: Dance Choreography, Literature, Photography, Film Production, Music Composition, and Visual Arts. 

Entries can be submitted via Google Forms at https://forms.gle/9DivAosWTYxeUYwX9 (or use the QR code here). Submissions will be due Sunday, October 18. Artwork will be judged by school-level PTAs, and students can compete to advance to the council, district, state, or even national level.

Open PTSA Executive Board & Coordinator Positions

PTSA needs your help! We have several open positions on the PTSA Executive Board, as well as Coordinator positions for our programs and fundraisers. 

The Executive Board is a group of volunteers that meets once per month to discuss and plan fundraisers and events for Ponderosa families, such as Halloween Happening and International Night. 

For Coordinators, no meeting attendance is required, and most tasks can be done by email and on your own time.

Join the PTSA!

PTSA is a volunteer-run organization that coordinates activities and events to build school spirit and support the Ponderosa community. Membership in the PTSA gives you a voice in our school community and helps us raise funds for activities such as Ponderosa International Night and Halloween Happening.

Students, parents, caregivers, teachers, and staff and community members can join Ponderosa PTSA! Membership costs $10 annually per person. 

You may join by completing the pink membership form from your child’s 1st week Welcome Packet, or from the school office. You can also join online by using the PTA membership site. Thank you to our members and to the Ponderosa community for your continued support of PTSA.

Ponderosa Parents Facebook Group 

There is a Ponderosa parent group on Facebook! Ponderosa Elementary School Families. If you would like to join this online parent community, please note that there are mandatory membership questions, such as the name of your child’s teacher and classroom number, in order to keep the group secure and to respect the privacy of our Ponderosa families.
