Corsage/Boutonniere 

Steps & Procedures:

• First gather the flowers and foliage you'll be using. Usually you'll want a piece of greenery to make the corsage/boutonniere flat, some accent flowers and a main flower in the center.

• Now you'll take your piece of greenery and depending you'll either poke the floral wire through the greenery or hang it off of one of the leaflets. After that you'll begin to tape the greenery all the way down the piece and wire.

• Then you'll want to take an accent piece and whether the stem is sturdy or not you'll just tape it with your greenery making sure you cut the stem short so the piece is not bulky and taping it all the way down the wire. If it is not sturdy you will poke the floral wire through and press the wire down into an upside down "V" using the piercing wire method.  Then you will tape it entirely down the wire then tape it it to your greenery. 

• Next you want to wire your main flower and use the hook wire method. First you want to insert the wire through the calyx of the flower and up the head of it. Now you want to make a tiny hook with the wire and gently pull the wire down.  Now you want to tape your whole flower connected to the wire, make sure you keep the stems short. Next you'll tape the flower onto your base greenery all the way down. Make sure you don't have all your flowers on the same levels.

• Now you'll take your next accent pieces and repeat the same steps as the previous one. 

• Then you'll want to take your ribbon and start to make a bow with it, you'll want to put the more shiny side up on your non-dominant finger hanging it over your finger slightly.

• Next you want to pinch the two horizontal sides of the ribbon together with your non-dominant hand. 

• Then you want to twist it as close as your fingers possible so you get textured side facing up and you want to then loop it over so the shiny side is back up and pinch it once more.

• Do steps 6-8 over and over until you have three loops of ribbon on each side. 

• Now you want to get a piece of floral wire and bend it around the middle of the bow. Raise the bow up and put your finger in between the wire and twist very tightly so it secure the bow very well.

• Next you want to attach your wire to the greenery base like all your other flowers and tape it down. 

• Finally get a nice pencil and curl the bottom taped part of your corsage/boutonniere, stick the pins into the sides and you're all done!
