Dragon Pokémon are among the most elusive and powerful in the game and one of my favorite types. With nine legendary Pokémon and four that have legendary like stats, they are very powerful and also difficult to train. They require more EXP points per level and evolve later on than other types so they are in their weaker forms for longer. Dragon Pokémon are super-effective against other Dragon types and are not very effective against Steel Pokémon. Fire, Water, Electric, and Grass Pokémon are all not very effective against Dragon types, while Ice and Dragon are super-effective against them. With 72 Pokémon in their type they are one of the smaller types. Here are some of them:
Dratini are timid, elusive, and extremely shy Pokémon. They often evade Trainers to the point where many believe they are mythical. Dragonair can make the wings on the side of their head grow to the point where they can fly and can use their crystals as a light source and to change the weather. Dragonite can travel the globe in 16 hours at 1556 mph. Very impressive!
Deino are blind and bite constantly, making them Pokémon to be very cautious of when approaching. They will also ram into everything and have many bruises because of it. Zweilous has two heads that really dislike each other, and as a result they often try to have eating competitions. They are carnivorous and generally eat too much from these competitions. Hydreigon are violent Pokémon that will attack anything that moves without pause.
Bagon have one wish to soar in the skies and are often found jumping off of cliffs attempting to learn how to do so. So if you see a Bagon on the edge of a cliff, get away as fast as you can. You have been warned! They have a very hard head. When they evolve to Shelgon, they grow an immense shell around them and undergo a change in cells. The shell falls off as it evolves into Salamence and it has gone under enough transformation that it now has wings and can fly. Salamence is very arrogant over this fact and will often spout intense flames into the air after it wins battles.

Most Flying type Pokémon are based on birds or insects, with a few being based on dragons or other mythological creatures. Almost all Flying Pokémon have Flying as a secondary type. Tornadus is the only Pokemon that is a pure Flying type. Flying pokemon have been paired with every other type since generation 6. Flying moves are super-effective against Grass, Fighting, and Bug and are not very effective against Electric, Rock, and Steel. Ground Pokémon have no effect on Flying Pokémon and Grass, Fighting, and Bug have very little effect on them. Electric, Ice, and Rock are all super-effective against Flying Pokémon. There are 105 Flying type Pokemon, some of which are listed below:
A Pidgey is a small, brown bird that grows red and yellow feathers through evolution. They have an incredibly sharp sense of direction making them useful for sending messages. Pidgeotto will fiercely defend up to 60 miles and it will fly the perimeter all day to spot out intruders. As a Pidgeot, it is such a powerful flier that it can create whirlwinds strong enough to bend trees. They can even spot a Magikarp from 3,300 feet in the air, they have such keen eyesight. Pidgey, Pidgeotto, and Pidgeot Pokémon are all found in forests in Kanto and Johto, although Pidgey variants have shown up in Sinnoh and Unova. They all eat small insects such as Weedles, Caterpies, and Wurmples. Pidgeotto and Pidgeot will also eat fish-type Pokémon, in particular, Magikarps.
Feeding mainly off other bug Pokémon, Hoothoot appears only at night. They have such an incredible sense of time that they hoot at the same time every night and can even be used as alarm clocks. Noctowl are incredibly intelligent and will rotate their head at a 180° angle to increase their intellect. They are also up all night and can sneak up silently on their prey without being detected.
Ducklett are talented divers and can spray water from their feathers for self defense. They live around ponds and rivers and are known to eat peat moss. Swanna can attack very successfully and forcefully with their long necks and beaks, and rarely miss their opponents. They are also known to fly out onto ponds and do dances together, with the Swanna in the middle being the leader of the flock.
