Water is one of the three Starter Types for Pokémon and has possibly the most Pokémon in it out of any type with 153 total. Water moves are super-effective against Fire, Ground, and Rock Pokémon and are not very effective against Water, Grass, and Dragon Pokémon. Fire, Water, Ice, and Steel Pokémon are all not very effective against Water Pokémon, while Electric and Grass are super-effective against them.
Horsea are very shy Pokémon that will spray ink from their mouth whenever they sense danger. They can often be found playfully tangling their tails together in groups whenever they feel safe and will use their tails to anchor on to rocks and coral whenever there is a strong current that might wash them away. Horsea are insectivores but will also eat moss off of rocks. Seadra was the fully-evolved version of Horsea in Generation 1, but it actually picked up a secret gene that contributes to their poison and dragon qualities that fully come into play as Kingdra. Seadra capture their prey by spinning in circles to create whirlpools that trap their prey. Kingdra Pokémon are dual typed of water and dragon, and are very powerful because of it. It is said that the yawn of a Kingdra is strong enough to create undercurrents that destroy small ships. They live in deep underwater caves and come out after storms to capture other Pokémon as prey.
Magikarp are infamous for being pathetically weak. In battle, they will just flop around and use Splash which does absolutely nothing. But some Magikarps, especially caught ones, can learn tackle and flail. Although they are still weak attacks, at least they do something. At level 20 though, they evolve into Gyarados. Gyarados are much more powerful and violent than Magikarp, which some scientists attribute to the incredible genetic changes it went under during evolution. Gyarados are known to come out during human violence and will burn cities to the ground. The Lake of Rage is best known for having many Gyarados, and even a few red Gyarados, which involuntarily evolved thanks to Team Rocket and gave them their red color. They are one of the few Water Pokémon that can do some Electric and Fire type moves. Although they don't look like it, Gyarados are actually part Flying type as well.
Wailmer are extremely playful Pokémon that look like whales without tails at the end. They can fill themselves with water and bounce around, even occasionally bouncing outside of water while they do so. They eat over a ton of food a day, which they filter through their baleen plates. Wailord are the largest known Pokémon in the world. Despite being so large, they can breed with much smaller Pokémon like Skitty, Diglett, Seedot, Eevee, and Rattata to name a few because of their status in the Egg Group. This has sparked a lot of groups discussing how this would be possible.

With only 55 Pokémon total, Ice types are quite elusive. Ice moves are super-effective against Grass, Ground, Flying, and Dragon and are not very effective against Fire, Water, Ice, and Steel. Ice Pokémon are not very effective against other Ice Pokémon, but Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel Pokémon are all super-effective against Ice.
Cubchoo have a nose that is constantly running which is where its powers come from, but their powers will decrease when they are not feeling well. Beartic can freeze objects with their breath and have very strong fangs, as well as are extremely good swimmers.
Vanillite represent a swirled scoop of ice cream, and will become extremely embarrassed if they are seen without their snow covering on top. Their breath is as cold as -50 degrees Celcius and they can create ice crystals merely from their breath. Vanillish live in snowy mountains and create shards of ice to ward off enemies. Vanilluxe are easily angered and can expel violent blizzards at their victims.
Snorunt live in icy caverns where they feed on ice and snow. They roam around in groups of five or six, but they are not easy to capture because they can withstand temperatures of up to -150 degrees Fahrenheit. Female Snorunt can turn into Froslass, which is a hollow Pokémon that can freeze her foes with her -58 degree Fahrenheit breath. It is rumored that she will keep her prey on display frozen where she lives. Glalie tend to be mischievous and can block paths so that travelers are led into mountain top caves or dwellings. They are actually very loyal Pokémon and are often misjudged for their unfriendly appearance and physical disposition. While Glalie are often considered to be the male version of Froslass, there are female Glalie. They are very similar to Snorunt, just stronger, and their ice moves can literally freeze their prey in their tracks.
