Pyren Monferno

Pyren is of average height, weight, and size for a Monferno. The only differentiating feature about him is his brighter mask colors. Pyren's only accessory is his cream-colored poncho, which he wears in any sort of weather. It reflects his body heat and keeps him warm in unfavorable weather and temperatures. He does not carry a weapon, as his combat is carried by his fists and feet.

Pyren has a sense of modesty and tries to remain calm in the face of any situation. Despite his calm demeanor, he enjoys traveling and discovery and will sometimes take risks to that end. His attempts to be calm are usually dashed whenever he is challenged about his opinion, leading him to become furious. He considers himself a leader and he is pretty good at it, although his ability to strategize is lacking. When his leadership is challenged, it will also result in outbursts even if he is in the wrong.

He greatly enjoys exploration and seeing new places; he wants to explore the whole world. He also has an impressive imagination, especially when it comes to thinking of absurd fantasies. He is sometimes referred to as a pyromaniac for his great appreciation of burning things. He has a great fascination with flames, including his own tailflame. Being the simple Pokemon that he is, he does not like dealing with overcomplicated things. At times, this can unfortunately hinder him as a leader. He also greatly dislikes feeling inferior to somebody else, especially when it comes to being a leader. Like many others, he has a great distaste for the ancient technology left by precursors during the Cataclysm.

Pyren came from a town called Tem'Cael, a port city in a southeastern region of Statera. His best friends, Remy and Amelia, are his favorite Pokemon to travel with. He is a member of the Exploration Guilds.

Like most members of his species, Pyren fights with all of his limbs. His agility allows him to throw swift blows and kicks, as well as slap his foe with his flaming tail. His tailflame is his biggest advantage outside of moves, as it can be heated up to singe attackers that come too close.

Incinerate - Pyren often uses this move in conjunction with basic combat. Unlike Flamethrower, which is often restricted to the mouth in terms of deployment, Pyren can unleash Incinerate from any of his limbs. Thus, his swift punches and kicks often are coupled with fiery strength (literally).

Mach Punch - Being one of his weaker moves, Pyren uses this attack only as a counter to swift opponents or in close quarters. It serves as a good method to lead into his more powerful attacks.

Acrobatics - A true show of Pyren's agility, this move proves enjoyable both inside and outside of combat. Pyren can use this move to attack an opponent from above or to take advantage of a dense environment.

Thunderpunch - A move inherited from his mother, Pyren almost exclusively uses this move for self-defense against water and flying type Pokemon, his biggest threats.
