When I take in all that has occurred since the beginning of the term, I realized that I had to surrender to the fact that even though “I had plans’ to see the process through, sometimes other ERW's will take over the active teaching role that once was my responsibility. In all my years of experience, I have never been possessive over any of the students that I worked with and I still feel very grounded and understand my role as an ERW. However, this year is different, because this year, COVID happened amongst other personal life experiences. It affected how I could interact with my students and that was an emotional blow. As an ERW one of the most important things, I learned this term is that I must continue to be flexible and adapt to the ever-changing learning environment. I recognize that learning happens together and apart and that I can continue to make goals and set intentions, as there are always students for me to teach and there is never a day that I am not learning. Subsequently, I have further developed character attributes of patience, persistence and resilience.
