PRAYER FOCUS
OUTREACH
Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, please pray along with me:
O God our Heavenly Father, we thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in bringing your love, joy, and peace to the people living in our community. As we near the end of 2023, we also look forward to 2024, the Year of Engagement, and we pray that you fill our hearts with the willingness to step up and go forth to do the good works that you have prepared beforehand for us to do. We look forward to an exciting year, knowing that as we move out with boldness and courage to bring blessings to the community, you will also bless us with your presence and your provision.
We pray for all the elderly in the St Luke’s Eldercare Centres and the elderly residents of ECON Medicare Centre on Recreation Road. We pray that you will bring healing to those who are suffering from the hacking cough that is prevalent among the elderly. We know that your healing touch can bring restoration of good health to the elderly there.
We also look forward to being able to collaborate with the Fei Yue and St Luke’s Active Aging Centres at Serangoon Avenue 4 and Lor Ah Soo to befriend the lonely elderly living in those neighbourhoods. We thank you that you have opened up more opportunities for our members to bless the lonely elderly with companionship. Through this befriending, may we also eventually bring the invitation to them to join your Kingdom.
We pray for all the families and households that we bless in the rental blocks Blk 223A Serangoon Ave 4 and Blk 8 Lor Lew Lian. We know that food prices are rising steadily and that it will rise even more when the GST increase kicks in. But food is one of the basic needs for these families – so we pray that we can continue to meet them at their point of need and bring them breakfast and essential grocery items on a regular basis. We also ask that you multiply those blessings so that our friends there will have enough to eat.
Even as we bless the families in these two blocks, we also thank you for opening doors for us at the rental blocks in Buangkok, Woodleigh, and Sengkang West Way. We pray that our members will answer the call to be co-workers at these blocks and to bring food blessings to the needy families there in the Year of Engagement.
We pray for all the children in the community. As they begin their school holidays, help them to be rejuvenated and rested. They have just completed another stress-filled school year, so we ask that you give them peace as they spend time in fruitful and healthy recreation. We pray especially for the children in Hope Student Care Centre – that they will continue to be aware of your presence during the school holidays, and that they will grow in their love for you as we engage them during the Christmas Party. We pray for the youth in Cluster 09 who will be organising the Christmas Party for them. Fill them with wisdom as they plan the Party and bless the children with God-filled songs, stories, games, and food.
We thank you for all the co-workers who gladly and willingly give of their time and energy to do this outreach work – the work that allows us to bring your love to people in the community by meeting them at their point of need; the work that would eventually bring them into your Kingdom.
