PRAYER FOCUS
OUTREACH
Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:
O God our Heavenly Father, we are so privileged to be able to call you “Father”. Indeed, you are the perfect example of what a father ought to be, and we want to emulate you in the way you father everything that you have created. Your Word says that you are “God and Father of all” (Eph 4:6), so we want to align our hearts with yours because we know that you have a heart for each and every person in our community. Because of this, we lift them up to you in prayer, knowing that you will hear our prayers for all of them.
We pray for all the teachers and children in Hope Student Care Centre. They are still having their school holidays at the moment. We pray that they will find rest and recreation because they have been working hard prior to this. We pray that you watch over all of them when they are having their outings, excursions, staycations and vacations. Keep them safe and allow them to have fun and a blessed time with their families. We pray especially for the Primary 6 kids who will be taking their PSLE this year. We know that even during the holidays, they are already preparing themselves for the examinations by doing worksheets and going for extra tuition classes. Allow them to have enough rest, Heavenly Father, so that they will not grow weary. Keep them close to you so that they will know you are present with them all the time. When they come to church for the day-camp at the end of June, fill them with an awareness of you and your Son Jesus Christ. Give wisdom to the Cluster 09 Youth as they organise and execute the day-camp for the children, and give them and the co-workers opportunities to show the children your love as we all spend time together having meals, singing songs to you, listening to stories about you, and playing games.
We pray for all those whom we minister to at Blks 223A Serangoon Ave 4, Blk 8 Lor Lew Lian, and Blk 201-210 Serangoon Central. In this month, we pray especially for the fathers and father figures in the families whom we distribute breakfast and essential grocery items to. We pray that even as we bring these blessings to them, we do so in a way that maintains the dignity of the fathers and father figures there. We pray that as we help them provide for their families with their basic needs, that they will come to know that you are their God and the true Provider for them and their families. We thank you that some are already responding to your love and are coming to church to attend our worship services. As we continue to build bridges into their lives, we pray that you will continue to transform more hearts to turn toward you and enter into your Kingdom.
We pray for the homeless and rough sleepers in our community. It is heart-breaking to see them sleeping in the void decks and stairwells on pieces of cardboard. For many of them, they are out there because of severed and broken relationships with their families. Among them are fathers and father figures who once headed the household. We know that for them, it seems impossible to get back together with the family and return to their homes. But what seems impossible for us is always possible for you, O God. So, we ask that you look upon them with mercy and we pray that they will find restoration of their dignity through the restoration of their family ties. Show them how to do it, and then soften their hearts to be willing to forgive and to be receptive to forgiveness. Only you can do this, Heavenly Father because we know that with you, nothing is impossible.
We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
