THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE EARLY CHURCH
(Closing Date: 24 Apr)
This is the second part in the series on the Holy Spirit continuing from The Holy Spirit in the Gospel. Dr Lai Pak Wah leads us to explore the understanding of the Holy Spirit’s person and work among early Christians after the time of the apostles.
In John 14, Jesus promises that He will send a Helper, Comforter and Teacher to guide His disciples. The Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, thereby transforming the lives of Christians and empowering us to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
But who is this Holy Spirit? How does He relate to God the Father and The Son? This was a question that the early Christians struggled with before arriving at the answer we now confess: The Spirit is God.
Join us as we find out how the early Church arrived at this legacy, and what it means for us in our day and age. Join us at this session to understand the Holy Spirit in our heritage as we seek to grow deeper in the Spirit.
Look out for our final instalment of the series, The Holy Spirit in the Life and Ministry of John Wesley, by Bishop Emeritus Dr Wee Boon Hup on 23 July 2022. Be sure to join us for this session as we explore the workings of the Spirit in our Methodist heritage.
