THE CHRISTMAS TALE

In the video, the Bibiks say, “If anyone asks you what you want for Christmas, just say, “Nothing, because all we want for Christmas is YOU!”

On 20 Nov, we will be launching The Christmas Tale Prayer Tree where you can write the names of the people you want to invite on pretty Christmas baubles and hang them on the tree as a prayer dedication.

Reservation of free tickets also opens 20 Nov, 9am at reservation.plmc.org. So pray for God to show you whom to invite. Because the best gift you could give your loved ones this Christmas is the Gift of Salvation!

Come join us for this Christmas Extravaganza on the evenings of 22, 23 and 24 Dec!

PRAYER FOCUS

OUTREACH

Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, I greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Please pray along with me:

O God our Heavenly Father, we notice that the Christmas decorations along Orchard Road are already put up. Christmas time is approaching, Lord God. For many, it is a time of merry-making, a time of sales, a time of gift-giving. We have been distracted by so many of these things that our eyes are turned away from the true meaning of Christmas. That on that day, you who loved the world so much, gave your only Son, Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

At this time, O God, we start preparations for bringing Christmas blessings to the people in our community. We busy ourselves with thinking of what food to buy for them, what gifts to pack for them, how to get them delivered, and a whole host of other things. Even as we do this for those whom you love, help us to remember that the best gift we could deliver to them is the Good News that is available to them – Jesus Christ and the salvation that he brings to them.

And so, O God, as we get busy with the gift preparations, help us to also busy ourselves with thinking and planning about how to bring the Good News of Christmas to the people in our community. Fill our hearts and minds with the courage and boldness to tell them about the birth of Jesus Christ and why he came to live among men.

As we plan the Christmas parties for Hope Student Care Centre, St Luke’s Eldercare Centres, Anglican Family Centre, and the B12 Youth, help us to make Jesus – the true message of Christmas – the centre of what we plan to do. And as we plan to bring the blessings of food to Blk 223A Serangoon Ave 4, Blk 8 Lor Lew Lian, Blks 201-210 Serangoon Central, and to our homeless and rough sleeper friends in the Friends Of Jesus Ministry, help us to also make Jesus the centre of our giving. O Heavenly Father, give us the ability to show them that we love them because you first loved us. Help us to show them that we can bless them because you first blessed us.

Heavenly Father, we also pray for all our co-workers in the Outreach Ministry who have sacrificed their time and energy to serve and minister to the people in the community. We humbly ask that you keep them healthy and strong, that you allow them to rest physically and also to rest in you, that you shield and protect them from anything that is not of you, that you give them the boldness to speak about your kingdom when the opportunity arises, and – if you are willing – that they may see the fruits of their labour when the people they serve choose to enter into your kingdom by faith in Jesus Christ.

We pray all of these things in your Son Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen!
